What's good
- Beautiful display
- Decent battery life
- Lightning-fast processor

What's bad
- Expensive without including accessories
- No headphone jack
The Apple iPad Pro 11 (2020) is among the top competitors for tablets in today's market. But as one of the most expensive options on the market, is it worth the price? And can it really replace your laptop like Apple claims?
Design
Super slim and available in two colors (space gray and silver,) the iPad’s aluminum frame has a nice weight to it. Reviewers commented that the overall design doesn’t seem to deviate from the 2018 model though.
Mashable says, “Seeing as how Apple already gave the 2018 iPad Pro a complete facelift, it's not shocking that the company decided to stick with the same design nearly two years later.”
Display
Apple iPad Pro 11 (2020) features a Liquid Retina screen for the best possible picture. True Tone colors allow for automatic dimming and brightening of the screen depending on the light around you. Although it doesn’t play 4k video, the screen is perfectly capable of making 1080p look crisp and clear.
Performance
There was very little to say about the performance that wasn’t good. It had no trouble playing popular games or running multiple apps.
Software & Storage
The tablet runs iPadOS 14 operating system which is fast and reliable. You can purchase the tablet with different amounts of internal storage. But choose wisely as it does not support an external card slot.
Cameras
The Apple iPad Pro 11 (2020) has two cameras on the back and one well hidden on the front. It also has a Lidar sensor on the back but reviewers said there’s very little functionality to it. It takes decent enough pictures but isn’t meant to -- or performs -- like the camera on its iPhone counterparts.
Digital Trends says, “The lidar sensor isn’t much help at the moment. There is no obvious benefit when using the main camera, and Apple doesn’t go into much detail about what you should use it for, outside of the Measure app.”
Battery Life
With light use -- one or two hours doing regular daily tasks like email or social media -- the reviews say the iPad Pro 11 (2020) lasts almost two days. The charger took about 2 and a half hours to charge completely. However, Apple offers a more powerful charger if you’re willing to spend extra.
Audio
The iPad Pro 11 (2020) has four speakers on the back, two on the top corners, and two on the bottom corners. It includes 5 microphones for optimum sound recording. The only issue brought up by reviewers was the sound being muffled when the tablet is on a flat surface.

Bottom Line
Apple does not disappoint with the iPad Pro 11 (2020). It fits snuggly in the rest of Apple’s lineup. While it didn’t disappoint reviewers, it also didn’t bring a sense of shock and awe. So, it’s only a modest upgrade over the 2018 version.
Digital Trends writes, “The iPad Pro has ruled the tablet market since its introduction. The 2020 iPad Pro is a minor update, but it’s still leagues ahead [of] its competitors.”
Mashable calls the tablet, “A worthy update for creatives, but still no laptop killer.”
Tech Radar states, “The new iPad Pro 2020 is another impressive tablet – but so were the models from 2018.”
What the Critics Are Saying...

- Matthew Bolton, T3The iPad Pro (2020) is the best tablet out there, with a fantastic screen, pro laptop power, and premium design. But it will be overkill for most people compared to the excellent iPad Air.

- Alex Iliev & Kroum Nikolov, LaptopMediaWell, we think that it’s clear. When it comes to pure performance power the A12Z Bionic silicone inside of the iPad Pro 11 2020 is the most powerful processor found in a tablet up to date. Even the Snapdragon 865+ that powers the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 is no match for the supreme prowess of the forme...

- Jonathan Bray, Expert ReviewsThe new Magic Keyboard turns the iPad Pro into almost the perfect laptop replacement but there are still some gaps to fill.

- Gareth Beavis, TechRadarThe new iPad Pro 2020 is another impressive tablet – but so were the models from 2018. Those devices were powerful, capable and had a multitude of improvements to the technology, and the latest iPad Pro has all of that too; however, apart from a small upgrade in terms of power, new camera tech that...

- Adam Speight, RecombuiPad Pro 2020 is a breathtaking device for several reasons, from its industry-leading design to its… well, industry-leading performance. Despite some improvements from Samsung, Android tablets still fail to lay a glove on the Apple tablet champ. With the iPad Pro, you get a gorgeous media machine th...
